We interrupt planned proceedings...

...to advise you to go straight to the fearless Torch of the Faith (TOF) blog which, sadly, has some pretty depressing news.

ACTA acting up again it seems - with more episcopal blessing; natch (we've always thought it rather fitting that ACTA has a capital C in its acronym and it doesn't stand for "Catholic"!).

A Cancerous Tumour Attacks - more like. Other fitting descriptions are available.

Really, we are left to wonder if there's a single bishop in England & Wales that we can truly rely on to defend Catholic Truth fully.

Well, we thought there was still one. Yeah, THAT one. Down there.

But (reluctant) thanks to TOF's digging, it's starting to look even he's caved in (honestly, it's becoming a 365/12/52/7/24/60/60 full-time job keeping tabs open on the Dissent Deluge flooding from every quarter! it's even harder in a Leap Year like this!).

Still, not to worry, cue:

"Yeah but he's always been friendly to/has celebrated Latin Mass etc. ..."

or the other closely related denial fudge:

"You can't expect a bishop to know evvvverything that happens in his diocese etc ..."

You know, maybe, instead of conjuring explanations and excuses to ease or avoid our worst fears (we most of us do it), just maybe it's time to face-the-unfaceable head on and ask at least two of the typical "who-what-when-why-where-how?" type questions as to how ACTA seems to have every last one of the English & Welsh bishops in its back pocket?

If that's not the case, then why doesn't even one of them tell the shower to sling their hook?

Of course, such pointed enquiries have been made many times before by striped veterans (who've had a nasty habit of predicting the future years in advance and eventually being proved correct) when cyber-naifs like us were still a distant twinkle in the Catholic blogosphere's eye.

Anyway, go to TOF to read the bad and then come back here for more of it from THIS (almost a decade ago).

Or the other way round.

It's utterly bleak either way.

Right, as promised, we'll return again soon.
